Who We Are

The Bellevue Association, founded in the 1960s, is a group of individuals, physicians, community members, and concerned citizens who support Bellevue Hospital Center in its mission to offer high quality compassionate healthcare to all New Yorkers.

Founded in 1776 Bellevue is the oldest public hospital in the United States. For almost 300 years Bellevue Hospital has been guarding the public health of New Yorkers and the city’s global population. Bellevue Hospital represents the noblest ideas of a humane society, providing free medical treatment to all who come through its doors, regardless of their ability to pay, their legal status, or their illness.
