Honoring Dr. Goldfrank

Chief Executive Officer Williams Hicks, Chairman Board of Trustees Ken Langone, Dr. Lewis Goldfrank, and Dean Robert I. Grossman

On October 2, 2019, The Bellevue Association was privileged to host a very special event to honor Dr. Lewis Goldfrank, the Herbert W. Adams Professor of the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine at the NYU-Langone Health Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. The event raised funds for The Bellevue Association and Project Healthcare. More than 180 people attended the party which took place in the Bellevue Hospital Rotunda, which displayed all of its beauty and was a spectacular space to celebrate the work of Dr. Goldfrank and Bellevue Hospital.

We want to thank all who attended and donated. We were especially honored that that those who spoke in honor of Dr. Goldfrank included Ken Langone, Chairman of the Board of Trustees NYU-Langone Health; William Hicks, Chief Executive Officer NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue; Robert I. Grossman, MD, Saul J. Farber Dean of NYU Medical School and Chief Executive Officer of NYU Langone Health; and Dr. Mitchell Katz, President and Chief Executive Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals. A special thanks to Marie Raven, MD, Chief of Emergency Medicine, UCSF Medical Center, who traveled from San Francisco to share with us her experiences of working with Dr. Goldfrank when she was a resident and faculty member in the Emergency Department at Bellevue, and to pay tribute to the enormous influence Dr. Goldfrank has had on her career and her view of the practice of medicine.

Dr. Goldfrank is a hero of public health and Bellevue Hospital and he has been an inspiration for countless doctors. The Bellevue Association is very grateful that we were able to hold this event and thank Dr. Goldfrank for allowing us to honor him.

If you were unable to attend, it is still not too late to make a donation in honor of Dr. Goldfrank to The Bellevue Association.
